Spirit lose in finals; team is being dissolved

We lost in the finals to the Nashua Pride, three games to none. The loss ends our season and also ends the five year existence of the North Shore Spirit. It's a sad day for me and everyone in the organization. I've loved this job and haven't missed a day of work in three years.

On to the next career challenge of my life, I can only hope it will be as fun.

One down, one to go!

The Spirit beat Atlantic City, three games to one in the first round of the playoffs, and will now face the Nashua Pride in the finals starting Tuesday the 11th!

North Shore Spirit Playoffs

Hi everyone!

We, the North Shore Spirit, are in the playoffs of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball. Our first round opponent is the Atlantic City Surf, and after two games at home the series is tied 1-1. I am writing this from my hotel room in Atlantic City, NJ, as we prepare for game three tonight (Friday Sept. 7).

If we win this first series, we would play either the New Jersey Jackals or the Nashua Pride in the championship series. But there is a lot of baseball left against a very good Atlantic City team.

The games will be on 1510 AM in the Boston area (all 7 PM) and on the Internet at www.northshorespirit.com.

Hope you all are well!

LEAHY ART RECEPTION

The Leahy Art Gallery in Richmond Hill, GA., run by cousins Jim and Vikki Leahy , will be having an artist's reception on Friday, July 27, 2007, from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. The featured artists are classical sculptor Isaac Mock and watercolor artist Louise Yancey Streed, showing original paintings from her book, Savannah: Her History. Accompanying them wil be guitarist Cesar Perez. Refreshments will be served.

For more information, you can E-mail Jim and Vikki at leahyart@comcast.net.

I for one cannot wait to get down there to see a reception. I was down there when the plans for the studio were just being put into place. I can imagine what it must look like now. One of these days, I swear I am going to drive down and pop in on a reception. Please show Jim and Vikki your support for their life's work. I am proud to see how far they have come!!

Memories of Nana

Does anyone have any stories or memories of Nana they'd like to keep alive? Any photos? I would be interested in hearing your thoughts. I did a game in Somerville this past Monday and drove by the old house at Partridge Ave. and it still looks the same, same multi- colored stained glass window still there, Piro Printing still at the top of the hill. It brought back some memories for sure!

Long live Nana's memory.

Getting started

To respond to posts or make new posts, you just need to create a Google account with a username (your Email) and a password. Once you do that ( and it only takes a minute or two) you can respond to any post and create new ones. It's free quick and easy and I think it's well worth the effort!

Welcome to the Leahy Family Blog!

Hello all,

I thought this would be a fun way for us all to keep in touch. Feel free to stop by and post anything you want.... stories, photos, and what is going on in all your lives. We're all on the computer a lot in our lives, so why not have some fun and keep in touch?

I hope to reach as many of our family as possible with this, and by all means please spread the word around to all the Leahy's you know.

This blog is designed for our family only. Anything to do with the Leahy's. Since I cannot make the family picnics anymore I thought this could bridge the gap a little.

Stop by, say hello, and let's keep in touch on line!

Here's to the Leahy's!

Love,

Jack
