Seans Bootcamp Training

Well, Sean's been at Parris Island for a few days now - I'm sure he is already exhausted! We will have no contact with him other than letters sent/received - and those won't begin until I get an address for him (by the beginning-mid of next week).

I have a HUGE request for everyone. In order for Sean to be assigned to a Platoon (so he can actually begin his "real" training - he must pass an Initial Strength Test. This consists of running 1 1/2 miles in 13:30 min (I don't see a problem here - he's a good runner), doing 44 crunches in 2 min (again, should be ok for him) but finally he has to do at least 2 pull ups (chin ups) to pass. Now here's where he needs all our help. When he left he could not even do 1.

I am asking for everyone to say a prayer for Sean early Saturday morning - please - to bring him the strength he needs to overcome these three things.

Unfortunately, if he does not pass this test, he will have to go to the Physical Conditioning Platoon, and his graduation day will be moved out. He will not go any further with the guys he's already bonding with, and have to wait until he is able to pass the test to join a platoon.

Thank you !

From
A Jack
To
A King!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well.

As most of you know, I have been looking for work (baseball) since my former employers, the North Shore Spirit ceased operations after the 2007 season. After several long, stressful months of job hunting, the search finally came to an end today. I accepted an offer to become the next play-by-play voice of the Kalamazoo (MI) Kings of the Frontier League.

I depart for Michigan on May 7th to meet my new team. It is an exciting challenge that I am looking forward to. I will be in Michigan for the summer months and then will return to Boston at the middle/end of September to get ready for hockey season.

Thanks to all who prayed for me and offered their friendship and support during this process. I'm glad it's over!

The Kings will be on ESPN 1660 AM in Kalamazoo and all games will be streamed over the Internet at www.kalamazookings.com.

Again, thanks to all and GO KINGS!!!!

Love,
Jack
